Description

This 1-1/2 in. Ball Valve is made from Bronze with a Flanged connection. 150 lb Navy pressure rating.

Ball Valves use a rotating hollow ball to control or stop fluid flow. Ball Valves are operated by a quarter turn of an actuator/handle. When the hollow bore in the ball aligns with the pipeline, it allows for fluid to flow through. When the valve handle is turned 90 degrees, the solid side of the ball faces the pipe, which blocks flow. A highly common and versatile valve type, Ball Valves are known for fast operation and excellent shutoff capabilities.

Flanged connections utilize a flat circular plate with bolt holes to join valves to piping. This connection allows for easy disassembly for maintenance or replacement without the need to cut the pipe. Flanged valves found on most working boats because they are reliable and easy to remove for overhaul.
