This 1 in. Ball Valve is made from Bronze with a Sil-braze connection. It has a 400 lb pressure rating.
Ball Valves use a rotating hollow ball to control or stop fluid flow. Ball Valves are operated by a quarter turn of an actuator/handle. When the hollow bore in the ball aligns with the pipeline, it allows for fluid to flow through. When the valve handle is turned 90 degrees, the solid side of the ball faces the pipe, which blocks flow. Sil-braze connections employ a brazing process using a silver-brasing alloy. Instead of threads, the pipe fits into a socket which has a channel cut into it. A brazing ring is inserted into the channel and the silver alloy is heated and melted into the gap. This creates a permanent bond between the fitting or valve and the pipe. Sil-Braze connections are exceptionally strong, leak-proof, and resistant to vibration.
