Description
This 1 in. Lift Check Valve is made from Carbon Steel, Forged with a Socket weld connection with a Class 800 pressure rating.
A Lift Check Valve is a type of check valve that prevents backflow. Flow moves upward against a disc and then back down to the outlet. When flow pressure decreases or reverses, gravity assists in pushing the disc closed, resulting in a faster, tighter seal. Not recommended for viscous fluids, as the changing internal flow direction creates opportunity for buildup of debris and residue.
Socket weld pipe connections are used in high temperature and high-pressure environments. Socket weld pipe connections feature a smooth internal bore sized to match the outer diameter of the pipe. The pipe end is inserted into the socket and then fillet welded around the joint, forming a strong, leak-tight seal. Socket weld connections are popular in smaller sized fittings and are permanent.
Forged Carbon Steel Components are manufactured via a process known as forging. Carbon Steel is the most common and widely used form of steel worldwide due to its strength, workability, and cost. Carbon Steel is an alloy of Iron that uses carbon as the primary alloying element.Unlike cast steel, forged steel components are created by direct manipulation of the metal by compressive tools like a hammer or a press. Forged Steel is generally stronger than cast steel and has a lower rate of defects.
