Description
This 6 in. Butterfly Valve is made from Carbon Steel, Cast with a Wafer connection with a 285 PSI pressure rating.
Butterfly valves use flat, circular discs that pivot in the center of pipes to regulate fluid flow by means of a quarter-turn motion. Butterfly valves are popular in a variety of applications due to their relatively simple design and usage. They have slim face-to-face dimensions and are excellent at sealing. As quarter-turn valves, they are also easier to actuate. They can be operated with levers, gear operators, or actuators.
Wafer connections feature a compact design that allows the valve to fit snugly between two existing flanges in a pipeline. The part is held in place by bolts that pass through the entire assembly. This design saves both space and weight - which is particularly important in marine applications.
Carbon Steel is the most common and widely used form of steel worldwide due to its strength, workability, and cost. Carbon Steel is an alloy of Iron that uses carbon as the primary alloying element. As a term, Carbon Steel generally means the component does NOT qualify as Stainless Steel, which is more resistant to corrosion.
Tork Systems offers an extensive range of valves, pipe, fittings, and flanges that are critical to ship repair projects and other marine applications. Our markets include US Navy, Coast Guard, and Commercial marine vessels. Let our team of marine experts help you find the parts you need to Get Ship Done.
